A call for passion and ideas

By Yvonne Guibert

Do you have a message to share? Are you passionate about it? Can you tell it in six minutes? WorkCompCentral is searching for people within the workers’ compensation industry who have a story to tell that inspires, motivates, cajoles, prods and generally raises everyone’s game from that moment on.

I’m talking about the Comp Laude® People’s Choice Awards. These are “TED-style” talks delivered to our Comp Laude® Awards & Gala audience on Tuesday, October 31 in San Diego. TED talks are “devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks.” You can see examples here: http://www.ted.com

It is a great platform to share your passion for new ideas and creative thinking about how the “grand bargain” can be realized at its best - moving people and organizations “off of top dead center” and breaking the inertia of conventional thinking.

Do you have a story to share? If so, tell us about your idea and how, if given the chance, you would present that idea to the entire Comp Laude® audience in six power packed minutes. If chosen, you will be among a limited number of fellow dynamos who will each have six minutes to communicate their story.

I am personally inviting you to share your story at the upcoming Comp Laude® Awards & Gala October 30 - November 1 in San Diego, CA.

Comp Laude® attendees will be given the opportunity to vote electronically for their favorite presenter and the People’s Choice Award will be presented during the Comp Laude® Awards ceremony later that day. How exciting!

Submissions: This invitation is open to anyone in the workers’ comp industry. Email your idea for your People’s Choice Award talk and full contact information to kristen@workcompcentral.com. Describe how you will use your six minutes to tell your story. Be creative. Be persuasive. Tell us your story!

Submit your idea by Friday, September 15, 11:59pm PST to kristen@workcompcentral.com Write  “People’s Choice Awards 2017” in the subject line.  You will be notified by Wednesday, October 4 if your submission is chosen.
